Bridges Golf Club Wedding, San Ramon, CA
Pao-Chen and Shashank got married last month at The Bridges Golf Club on a gorgeous spring day. It was the second wedding I’ve photographed at The Bridges. There are two reception spaces – this one, for more intimate parties, and a larger room. Both are drenched in sunlight, starting at about an hour before sunset – and it’s a wonderful thing to be able to photograph in such a gorgeous room at the exact time of day when it looks its best. Leonard Lake Reserve Wedding
I got to shoot a few weddings last year for Fun and Funky Wedding Photography, including Jo and Fred’s Leonard Lake Reserve wedding. You can see more photos here: http://funandfunkyweddingthings.com/blog/2013/12/6/fred-and-jo-leonard-lake-reserve-wedding-cali but this is my favourite photo from the day. A few of the guests cooled off in the lake, which is one of the abundant reasons to get married at Leonard Lake Reserve, and one of them climbed out, and I was there. You might say this doesn’t look much like a wedding photo, and you’d be right, but the bride and groom wanted a summer camp feel for their wedding day, and I think this fits well.
St John Armenian Church Wedding
Aras married Ellen at St. John Armenian Apostolic Church at San Francisco, and this is one of many hugs that followed. I don’t see this type of brotherhood every day, or even every other Saturday during wedding season. When I do, I’m overjoyed to think of my own brothers and the great male friends I have, and I’m glad to know that this strength of friendship exists in the world. It was my first time shooting a St John Armenian Church Wedding; I was elated to experience the dramatic lighting and interesting neighborhood of another iconic San Francisco church. After I took this photo, we made our way up to Twin Peaks and then to the Embarcadero for some portraits, before a magnificent reception at the Omni Hotel, in the heart of San Francisco’s Financial District.
